For eventualities on earthquakes we have a stock of water at home. So it could happen that I bought a four litre bottle of water in September. For daily use we have two litre bottles. Tap water is clean but has a stiff chloride taste. Always bleached teeth though.
Recently the last two litre bottle was empty when we were about to settle for dinner. Frank did the cooking. Then why not open that four litre bottle. Otherwise it might run out of date. Poured in. The first drink was exceptionally delicious. Tasted like vodka! Vodka is Russian for ‘small water’ but that is a different story. Something strange. “Are you sure it is not a cleansing agent?” Frank asked.
So what happened? It was not water in the bottle but sake. Especially for kitchen use. 25%. What to do? Let’s drink something else than water at dinner then.
And what to do with a stock of four litre sake of a relative quality? The association with vodka brought the answer. Mixed with orange juice it tastes very well and it doesn’t pitch in as the vodka variety does. Invention!
One question remains: imagine after a real earthquake we had to rely on this ‘water’ stock?...?
