A day in daily life

Newspaper (the Japan Times) reporting on the next elections in Holland.

Sunday morning. Frank's eyes just opened. Recovering from the adventures with Loes and Carla and enjoying their good care. Thanks to the girls we have trays now. To date we used pieces of cardboard but that of course is not very gentlemen-like. Also beautiful ball shape decorations (see desk lamp). The chocolate sprinkles came with Harold.

Sunday afternoon autumn festival in Temple university. All clubs show themselves and make something to eat. Here are my friends of the Kyudo club (archery). They make okonomiyaki in small portions, called harayaki.

Japanese homework. Speaking and listening excercise online.

Frank is cooking delicious, as always. In the doorway to the bedroom you can see our new noren, a mini curtain a gift from Harold with a fine origami crane motif. Noren may sound Ikea but is very Japanese. Nearly every restaurant, every shop and every home has a noren. In the hot summer every ventilation is welcome though privacy is appreciated at the same time. That is why the noren was invented. It has nothing to do with angry ghosts, unless you consider the neighbours' eyes as such...
